5. Chicago Housing Authority Seeks Architect for Robert Brooks Development

 

Issuing Agency: Chicago Housing Authority

RFP Description: CHA seeks to contract with an Architectural Firm to make assessments of the existing environment and systems, provide design documents to correct deficiencies or enhance livability suitable for bidding, and provide technical and administrative support throughout the bid and award phases. The expected contract term is five years from the Notice to Proceed.

Robert Brooks homes were built in 1943. The property located in the Near West Side community, which consisted of 835 row homes and featured masonry exterior walls and concrete floors. The property was renovated between 1997 and 2000. The buildings typically have five to eleven residential units in each and are comprised of one-to-four-bedroom units. In order to better enhance the residents’ quality of life, 38 two-story buildings at Brooks Homes will undergo comprehensive apartment retrofitting and new plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.

4. Maine Housing Authority Seeks Bond Counsel

 

Issuing Agency: Maine State Housing Authority

RFP Description: The Maine State Housing Authority (“MaineHousing”) is inviting proposals from experienced and qualified firms (“Respondent”) to act as MaineHousing’s Bond Counsel.

MaineHousing is a public body corporate and politic and an instrumentality of the State of Maine. MaineHousing is empowered to, among other things, issue notes and bonds for the purpose of providing monies for the origination or purchase of mortgages.

MaineHousing has active single family and multi-family loan programs, which it operates primarily out of its Mortgage Purchase Program Bond Resolution (“MPP”). Under these programs MaineHousing has recently been purchasing over $400 million in mortgages per year. Bond issuance has averaged over $400 million per year for the past three years.

3. Harris County, TX Seeks Developer for Hardy Yards Mixed-Use Development

RFP Description: On behalf of the Harris County Housing Finance Corporation(“HCHFC”), CBRE is pleased to issue this solicitation inviting interested parties (“Proposers”) to submit a Statement of Qualifications (Step1 – RFQ) and Proposals (Step 2 – RFP) for the development, financing, and construction of a mixed-use, multi-phase workforce housing project on a site owned by HCHFC at 800 Burnett Street in Houston, Texas.

The Project is intended to fulfill HCHFC’s mission of delivering high-quality, affordable housing through an innovative execution model, with the selected Proposer serving as the long-term ground lessee and development partner.

The Project will serve as a catalyst for equitable development in the Near Northside neighborhood, delivering at least 200 units of affordable workforce rental housing and 30,000 square feet of ground-floor retail/commercial space. The development will be part of a broader master plan that includes shared green space, transit connectivity, and future phases of residential and commercial development.

RFP Description: The City of Raleigh (the “City”) is soliciting proposals from nonprofit and for-profit developers for the development of affordable rental housing on a cluster of City-owned sites totaling approximately 3.91 acres (the “Subject Properties”), formerly known as Duplex Village, to be made available via long-term ground lease.

The City encourages creative proposals and is looking to developers for innovative ideas that maximize the potential of this site.

These City-owned parcels present a unique opportunity for the City to create affordable housing along the New Bern Avenue corridor.
