The Department of Housing and Urban Development is considering the issuance of a five-year, multiple award IDIQ (indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) contract that would establish an enterprise approach to data analytics in the cloud and application development.

Here is an excerpt from a report published in Meritalk:

“HUD currently has numerous individual development contracts that are tied to a specific business need instead of an enterprise demand. Furthermore, the various procurement lead times and contracting vehicles have become obstacles in adapting systems to changing business requirements,” the draft statement of objectives notes.

The potential contract focuses on the areas of data science, data management and analytics, and application development.

On data science, HUD is looking for a contractor to help with establishing technical standards and data governance while making use of the agency’s big data platform in the cloud.

On data analytics, HUD is looking for a vendor to provide support using multiple tools and working with HUD’s cloud-based big data platform.

On application development, HUD is looking to issue task orders to develop software prototypes for both the cloud and on-prem environments, as well as provide user training.
