West coast cities were hit hardest by mass layoffs since the beginning of 2023, according to WARN Act notice data compiled by CivMetrics.

The WARN Act requires employers with 100+ employees to give 60 days notice when conducting a mass layoff. The employer also must file a notice with the state listing the number of workers slated to be laid off.

Below, find a sortable list of cities that make their WARN Act layoff data public. Which city has seen the most mass layoffs since the start of 2023?

NOTE: Some states/cities do not make their WARN notices public, and such states/cities are not included on this list. Layoff data only includes WARN Act-eligible layoffs. Thus, this list does not include layoffs conducted by employers with less than 100 employees.
